Solution

  1. Homogeneous mixtures: A mixture is said to be homogeneous if it has a uniform composition throughout.
  2. Heterogeneous mixture: A mixture having a variable composition of the constituents is said to be heterogeneous in nature.
  3. The solution is defined as the homogeneous mixture of two or more substances.
  4. One property in which they both resemble is that both being mixtures can be easily separated into their constituents using physical methods like filtration, evaporation etc.
  5. One property in which they differ from each other is that the solution of sugar in water is an example of a homogeneous mixture and thus referred to as a solution while a mixture of sugar and sand is a heterogeneous mixture.
