State some of the exceptions that the following elements display with respect to the properties of metals and nonmetals elements are gallium Mercury and Iodine.

Gallium = It is a metal which should show very high melting point but it melts at room temperature. Gallium a brittle solid at low temperatures but liquid at temperatures greater than 29.76 °C.

Mercury= It is also a metal and should exist in solid state but it exist in liquid state.

Iodine= It is a non-metal and like other non- metal it should exist as liquid or gas but it has a glittering crystalline appearance and exist in solid state.
