The basic postulates of Bohr’s theory of atomic spectrum are:

  1. The electrons revolve around the nucleus in a certain selected circular path is called an orbit.
  2. The spectrum of light emitted from an electron is called the line spectrum.
  3. If electrons jump from a lower energy level to a higher energy level, it absorbs the energy.
  4. If electrons jump from a higher energy level to a lower energy level, it losses the energy.
  5. Each shell or an orbital has fixed energy, and the circular orbitals are known as the orbital shells
