The Lok Sabha is also known as Lower House or the House of People consists of 545 elected members and two members nominated to represent the Anglo-Indian Society. Out of 545 elected members, 526 come from the states and 20 from the Union Territories. The members of the Lok Sabha are directly elected by the people on the basis of adult suffrage.
