Solution

Carbonyl group is defined as carbonyl and hydroxyl attached to a carbon atom, which means carbon atom is double bonded with oxygen and single bonded with the hydroxyl. And carboxylic acid is organic compound which consist of a carboxyl group.
Alphatics can be cyclic, but only aromatic compounds contains a specially stable ring of atoms such as benzene. Alphatic compounds can be satured like hexane, or unsaturated, such as hexene and hexyne. Open-chain compounds contains no rings of any type and are thus alphatic.
