The differences in the characters of the Dicot and Monocot roots with respect to
(i) number of vascular bundles-
The number of the xylem and phloem elements in monocot roots are 8 or more in number.
The number of the xylem and phloem elements in dicot roots are 2 to 6 in number.

(ii)pith-
Pith is large and well developed in monocot roots.
Pith is absent or insignificant in dicot roots.
