Breathing is a mechanical action involving the act of inhalation and exhalation. Breathing involves taking in oxygen from the environment and removal of carbon dioxide from the body.	Respiration involves the process by which chemical energy stored in the food is released in the form of ATP along with carbon dioxide and water.
Breathing takes place in the respiratory organs called as lungs.	Respiration takes place in the cells.
Breathing is a physical and semi-voluntary process.	Respiration is a chemical and purely involuntary process.
Breathing involves respiratory organs, the smallest of which are sac like organs called as alveoli.	Respiration involves cells and their organelles.
