Difference between boiling and evaporation

It is a fast process

It is a slow process and takes a long time.

It occurs at a fixed temperature known as boiling point. For ex: 100 ËšC for water.

It does not occur at fix temperature rather it may occur at any temperature above melting point.

It involves the entire mass of the substance and needs heat energy to occur.

It involves surface of the substance only at normal energy obtained from the environment.

4.

It involves formation of bubbles.

No bubble is formed during evaporation.
