Solution
An object can be charged by three methods: By friction, conduction, and induction.
In charging by friction, two objects are rubbed with each other. One loses electrons and becomes positively charged and the other gains electrons and becomes negatively charged.
In charging by conduction, the neutral conductor is brought into contact with a charged body and electron shifting takes place which makes the neutral body charged.
In charging by induction, a neutral body is brought close to a charged body without touching it. The rearrangement of the charges takes place within the neutral body. This property can be used to charge a neutral body.
