Mechanical Energy: Energy possessed by a body due to its motion or position/configuration is called mechanical energy.

Chemical Energy: Energy possessed by an object due to the chemical bonds or chemical configuration is called chemical energy.

Hence, when food is eaten by humans, chemical energy in the food gets changed to the mechanical energy of moving muscles.
