Amnion:

  1. It is the innermost membrane that lines the amniotic cavity and encloses the embryo.
  2. Amnion is located between the embryo and the chorion.
  3. Amnion is made up of two layers: Extraembryonic ectoderm form the epiblast layer and the nonvascular extraembryonic layer form the mesoderm.
  4. It is present between the embryo and chorion and it is formed from the epiblast cells of the blastocyst and surrounds the developing embryo. It serves as a cushion for the fetus from the mechanical jerk.
