The main physical properties of water are,

  1. It is a colourless, tasteless and odourless liquid.
  2. Water exists in three states: Solid(ice), Liquid (water), and Gas (steam).
  3. Water expands on cooling.
  4. Water has high melting and boiling point.
  5. On cooling, water expands in volume so the density of ice is lower than that of water. hence ice floats on water.
