Open in App
Solution

The thread like tendons of papillary muscles, inserted upon the flaps of tricuspid and bicuspid valves are called as Chordae tendineae. It prevents the valves of heart from movement by holding the flaps tightly against the strong flow of blood. It allows the blood to flow in one direction only. When the cusps close, the chordae tendineae prevent them from swinging back into the atrium cavity.
