Urine is expelled from the bladder as a result of the simultaneous contraction of the bladder and the relaxation of the sphincter muscles, under impulse from the nervous system.
The two types of sphincter muscles are:
(i) Bladder Sphincter: It is located at the exit of the bladder.
(ii) Urethral Sphincter: It is located below the bladder sphincter at the exit of the urethra.
