Sweat glands:

  1. Sweat is produced by glands in the dermis, the skin's deeper layer.
  2. The sweat glands can be found throughout the body, but the forehead, the armpits, the palm trees, and the soles of the feet have the maximum.
  3. Sweat is mostly water, but it also contains salts.

The main function of the sweat glands:

  1. Its foremost role is to regulate body temperature.
  2. The surface of the skin cools as the water in sweat evaporates.
  3. Sweat also helps with gripping by slightly moistening the palms.
  4. Sweating, or perspiration, is a way for sweat glands to get rid of excess water and salts.
