a. Renal Artery
The renal artery is one of the two main blood vessels found at the hilum of the kidneys.
Function: Renal artery supplies oxygenated blood to the kidney. It also carries waste products to the kidney for filtration.
b. Kidneys
The kidneys are a pair of reddish-brown, bean-shaped organs found on either side of the backbone. The right kidney is positioned slightly lower than the left kidney.
Function
- The kidney's primary function is the excretion of nitrogenous waste and other waste products from the body in the form of urine.
- They also help in osmoregulation, i.e., maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance.
