Solution

a. Renal Artery

The renal artery is one of the two main blood vessels found at the hilum of the kidneys.

Function: Renal artery supplies oxygenated blood to the kidney. It also carries waste products to the kidney for filtration.

b. Kidneys

The kidneys are a pair of reddish-brown, bean-shaped organs found on either side of the backbone. The right kidney is positioned slightly lower than the left kidney.

Function

  • The kidney's primary function is the excretion of nitrogenous waste and other waste products from the body in the form of urine.
  • They also help in osmoregulation, i.e., maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance.

c. Ureters

The ureters are a pair of tube-like structures that arise from the kidneys and open into the urinary bladder.

Function: The primary function of the ureters is to carry the urine produced by the kidneys to the urinary bladder.

d. Urinary bladder

It is a pear-shaped, hollow, muscular organ found at the end of the ureters. The urinary bladder opens into a tube-like opening called the urethra.

Function: The primary purpose of a urinary bladder is to store the urine produced by the kidneys in it. Typically a urinary bladder has a capacity of storing 300-500ml of urine.
