State the functions of respiratory organs.

Open in App
Solution

The respiratory organs are part of and help maintain the respiratory system in an organism. This helps the organism carry out gaseous exchange (exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide) needed during cellular respiration, which in turn, is necessary for breaking down food and producing energy. These organs also help in the olfactory response of the body of smell.
