Solution

The Law of Conservation of mass :

  1. This law deals with the relation between the mass of the reactants and the products during the chemical changes
  2. It was stated by a French Chemist, A. Lavoisier in 1774
  3. The Law of conservation of mass states that During any chemical change, the Entire mass of product is equal to the Entire mass of Reactants.
  4. In other words, the law of conservation of mass means that Mass can neither be created nor be destroyed during any chemical combination.
  5. This law is also known as the law of Indestructibility of matter.

The Law of Constant Proportions :

  1. The law of conservation of Constant Proportions is also known as Law of Definite Proportions.
  2. It was Given by J, Proust in 1799
  3. This law states that - A pure chemical compound is always made up of the same elements combined together in a fixed (or definite) proportions by mass.
  4. This means that whatever may be the source from which the compound is obtained, it always made up of same elements in the same proportion by mass.
