Solution
The weight of the liquid displaced by the immersed part of the body equals the total weight of the body.
The centre of gravity of the body and the centre of buoyancy lie on the same vertical line.
These statements, taken together are known as the Law of Floatation.
The weight of the liquid displaced by the immersed part is equal to the weight of the body.
While floating the weight of the floating body = weight of the liquid displaced by its immersed part.
