  1. The tubular canal through which the tympanic cavity communicates with the nasopharynx is called the eustachian tube.
  2. It is located in the middle ear, from the lower portion of the tympanic membrane to the nasopharynx.
  3. It equalizes the air pressure on both sides of the tympanic membrane or eardrum.
