The liver is a reddish-brown organ situated below the chest region on the right side of the body.
The liver secretes a digestive juice that is greenish-yellow in colour and is known as bile juice.
Functions:
The main function of bile juice is to break down complex fat molecules into tiny droplets for easy digestion and this process is also known as emulsification of fat.
The bile juice contains sodium bicarbonate which neutralises the acid content released from the stomach by making it alkaline.
