Dear Student,
According to the Modern Periodic Law,the chemical and physical properties of the elements are a function of their atomic numbers. This function is periodic in nature, depending on the position of the elements in the periodic table.
According to this law, if we arrange the elements on the basis of their atomic numbers, it is found that the elements with similar physical and chemical behaviour will be grouped together after a certain interval of elements.
The properties of elements are repeated after a fixed number of elements(periodic time) with increase in atomic numbers.
The law was stated by Henry Moseley.
