Solution

The arrangement of elements into groups and periods according to the similar in chemical property and increasing atomic number is called periodic table.

Dobereiner, Newlands and Mendeleev were the scientists who arranged the element in different ways. They made observations that led to the following types of law.

  1. The law of triads
  2. The law of octaves
  3. The periodic law

The chemical properties of all 63 elements known at that times was studied by Dmitri Mendeleev. He arranged elements in increasing order of their atomic masses. The properties of elements are repeated after regular intervals on arranging them in increasing atomic mass.

Periodic law:

The periodic law states that the properties of elements are periodic function of their atomic masses. This was the periodic law stated by Mendeleev.
