Cyclotron is a device used to accelerate charged particles like proton, deuteron,alpha particle etc. In cyclotron, Both electric and magnetic field are present and have different function.
The electric field accelerated the charged particle to very high energy and the perpendicular magnetic field throws the charged particle in a circular motion.
