a)Conduction. b)Induction

Solution

Dear student,
  1. in case of conduction, the object is kept along the positively charged rod. The positive charge present on the rod is distributed over the surface of object. It is so because electrons present on the object are attracted to the positively charged rod, thereby, causing the object to acquire positive charge all over its surface.
  2. In case of induction, when the object is kept beside the positively charged rod, the object acquires its charge. The transfer of electrons do not take place, but the object takes up the charge from the rod touching it.
