Question

State the two laws of electromagnetic induction.

Open in App
Solution

Electromagnetic induction: The phenomenon of producing an electric current in a conductor by changing the magnetic lines of force associated with the conductor is called electromagnetic induction.

Laws of electromagnetic induction:

  1. First law: A current is induced in the coil when the number of magnetic lines of force associated with a coil changes.
  2. Second law: The magnitude of the induced current is directly proportional to the rate at which the magnetic lines of force associated with the coil changes.
