Third law of thermodynamics: The entropy of a perfectly crystalline substance is zero at absolute zero of temperature. In other words, S=0 at T=0 K for any perfectly ordered crystalline substace.
Uses of third law of thermodynamics:
1) Thermodynamic properties can be calculated
2) Chemical affinity can be measured.
