State three important characteristics of liquid.

1. Liquids have definite volume but no definite shape of its own. It acquires the shape of the container in which it is kept.
2. Liquids cannot be compressed easily, however upon applying large compressive force they can be slightly compressed.
3. Liquids can flow but can't be heaped.
4. Liquids are dense and the intermolecular space in them is greater than for a solid.
