Solution

Artificial respiration:

It is the forcing of air into the lungs of someone who has stopped breathing, usually by blowing through their mouth or nose to help them to start breathing again.

Uses of oxygen are as follows;

  1. Spaceships: There is no air in space, liquid oxygen is employed as a fuel in rockets and spaceships.
  2. Cutting and welding: Oxygen and hydrogen are combined in a specially constructed flame for cutting and welding. Oxy-hydrogen quickly melts metals and can be used to cut and weld them.
  3. Chemical industry: Sulphuric acid is made using a lot of oxygen in the chemical industry.
