Question

State true(1) or false(0):
If the length of the shadow of a tower is increasing, then the angle of elevation of the sun is also increasing.

Solution

The angle of elevation $$\theta$$ can be expressed as $$ \tan { \theta =\cfrac { \text{height of the tower} }{ \text {length of the shadow} }  } $$.
$$ \therefore  \tan { \theta}$$ will decrease as the length of the shadow increases i.e $$\theta$$ will decrease.
So, the given assertion is false.
