NF3 is stable but NCl3, NBr3 and NI3 are explosive in nature.
Note: In case of NCl3, NBr3 and NI3 the following two factors contributes to the unstability.
(a) Low polarity of the NX bond (X=Cl,Br,I).
(b) Weakness of the NX bond due to large size difference between nitrogen and halogen atoms (Cl, Br, I).
