Question

State true or false::(give reasons)

Four dogs are running along a line in the same direction,such that each is running relative to the dog in front of him with equal speed. Then the rate of separation between third and first dog is same as that of the fourth and the second dog.(where first , second, third are taken in order)

Solution

The statement is true.
Since they have same speed relative to the dog in the front .So we can say that there is no CHANGE in seperation between consecutive dogs and hence with each other.
So rate of seperation is 0 relative to an 2 dogs , so it is same between third and first to that of fourth and first.

Hope this helps :)
