We can check if triangle is right angled or not without using pythagoras.

Using slope method ( product of slopes of perpendicular lines =1)

letA(4,4),B(3,5),&C(1,1)

Slopes:AB=5434=1;BC=1513=32;AC=1414=1

SlopeofAB×AC=1

AB and AC are perpendicular.

Hence, ΔABC is a right angled triangle,right angled at A.
