Question

State two applications of Amperes law.

Open in App
Solution

Ampere's law

Ampere's law states that “The magnetic field created by an electric current is proportional to the size of that electric current with a constant of proportionality equal to the permeability of free space.”

The equation explaining Ampere’s law which is the final Maxwell’s equation is given below:

×H=Dt+J

Applications of Ampere law

  1. Ampere's law is used in calculating magnetic field due to a current-carrying long wire.
  2. Ampere's law is used in calculating magnetic field due to the Long current-carrying solenoid.

The working principle of this law remains the same throughout every process, even though its implementation is different. It is the working principle of numerous machines and devices, which are often even implemented as parts of other devices.
