Question

State two factors which affect the atmospheric pressure as we go up.

Open in App
Solution

The two factors are altitude and temperature.

Altitude: atmospheric pressure decreases with the increase in the height.
This is because the air molecules are dense and hence molecules cannot move apart.

Temperature: due to low pressure, the temperature usually lowers down. This is why when we go up, we usually feel cold due to lower temperature.
