Solution

Merits of Mendeleev's periodic table:

  1. It was better than previous attempts as it was based on the more fundamental property of the elements which is the atomic weight.
  2. Mendeleev left with some gaps for undiscovered elements based on the properties of their group members which lead to the discovery of more elements.
  3. Already discovered elements have some errors in their atomic weights so he leads to the correction of that errors also.
