Properties of bar magnet :

1. Bar magnet has two poles the North Pole and the South Pole.
2. It can attract particles of iron and steel.
3. Like poles repel each other such as N-N and S-S
4. Unlike poles attract each other such as N-S
5. When bar magnet is suspended freely it comes rest in the north-south direction of the earth
6. Bar magnet is a permanent magnet so it does not lose its magnetism.
