State what happen when a concentrated solution of sodium chloride is electrolysed . Explain briefly?

When conc. solution of sodium chloride undergeoes electrolysis, we get NaOH, Chlorine gas and Hydrogen gas.The process is named as Chloro-Alkali process.

2NaCl. + 2H2O -->2NaOH + Cl2 + H2

The gas liberated at anode is chlorine and gas liberated at cathode is hydrogen,the raw material used is concentrated solution of sodium chloride also known as brine.
