  • When a burning candle is placed in a deflagrating spoon and lowered into an oxygen gas jar, a colourless liquid forms on the cooler regions of the jar, turning blue cobalt chloride — pink, indicating that the liquid formed is water.
  • A colourless gas is also produced, which tums lime water-milky, indicating that the gas produced is CO2.
