Solution

A) Rubbing of hands during cold weather - Friend
Reason: Due to friction, rubbing of hands produces heat and keeps us warm.

B) Wear and tear of tyres after long use - Foe
Reason: Even new tyres eventually become flat due to the friction between the tyres and the road. It is due to this friction, that the treads present on the surface of a tyre wear out after a long use.

Such tyres have to be replaced with new ones, otherwise vehicle may skid while driving.
