The total charge present on an object is conserved when no friction or any other charged object is brought near it.

Actually charge conservationis the principle that electricchargecan neither be created nor destroyed. The net quantity of electriccharge, the amount of positivechargeminus the amount of negativechargein the universe, is always conserved. hence total charge on a body is conserved only when the body is isolated from any other foriegn body or environment . So yes the charge remains conserved in such cases.
