Pollen grains are male gametes.

Androecium:

  1. A flower generally has four whorls: calyx, corolla, androecium and gynoecium.
  2. Androecium is the male reproductive part of the flower.
  3. It consists of units which are known as stamens. There are two parts in each stamen - anther and filament.
  4. The anthers produce a powdery tiny structures called the pollen grains where the male sex cells are produced.
  5. Thus pollen grains themselves are not he male gametes.
    Final answer: The given statement is incorrect.
