Solution

Sexual reproduction:

  1. Sexual reproduction can be defined as the production of a new individual with the help of a male and female parent who release their gametes and that fuse to form a zygote that develops into a new offspring.
  2. Sexual reproduction can take place both in animals and plants.
  3. Plants have both male and female sex organs in the structures called flowers where the gametes fuse forming a zygote and that develops into an embryo within a seed. That seed on germination gives rise to a new plant.
  4. Animals mostly follow sexual reproduction and the parents release sperms and egg which may fuse internally within the female body or outside the body and that gives rise to a new offspring.

Final answer: The given statement is incorrect.
