Solution

In a telescope the focal length of eye lens is always less than the objective lens.
Object for the objective lens of the telescope is far away and comes as a beam of light forming a diminished inverted image beyond the focus of the objective lens. This image acts as the object for the eye lens which has a shorter focal length so that the image formed by the first lens lies between the focus and optical center of the eye forming forming a magnified image.

The given statement is false.
