Solution

The correct option is A True
In the process of electrolytic refining of a metal, the impure metal is made as the anode and a thin strip of pure metal is made the cathode. In this process, a solution of the metal salt is used as an electrolyte because the metal ions from the anode (impure metal) dissolves into the solution and an equivalent of pure metal gets deposited onto the cathode which is a pure metal strip.
