Distributive pronouns refer to people or things, one at a time. Each, either and neither are distributive pronouns. These distributive words are normally used with singular nouns and are placed before the noun. For example “Each kid received a gift” or “Either student can do it”. Whereas these words are followed by ‘of’ when they are used with plural nouns. For example, “Neither of the students can do it” or “Each of the answers is right”. Thus the given statement is false. ‘Of’ is not used when the noun is in the singular.
