When the solid state is heated the molecules in the solid state get thermal energy due to which molecule starts vibrating at their own positions.
The particles gain a sufficient amount of energy to overcome the inter-particle force of attraction and get converted into liquid form.
Hence, heat energy will increase the temperature, and thereby the solid will be converted into a liquid state.
