The correct option is D I - T, II - F, III - F
Biotechnology is a field of science that integrates the use of biochemistry, microbiology, cell biology and engineering sciences to utilise biological cells for creating desired products. It involves extensive use of genetic engineering to introduce a foreign gene into another organism.
Biotechnology poses unforeseen risks to biodiversity and environment. For example, herbicide resistant genes engineered into crop plants may be transferred to weed varieties during cross pollination. This would render the weed varieties resistant to the herbicides and their growth will be uncontrolled. They might compete with the crop plants for resources which might eventually lead to their extinction.

Organisms with functional foreign genes introduced by genetic engineering are known as transgenic organisms. Creating transgenic organisms is often criticised to be a form of maltreatment as it is believed to violate the integrity of a particular species. Species integrity is an idea that says that every organism, whether owned by humans or not, has the right to have its genetic constitution unaltered. Transgenic organisms are genetically modified to carry genes from other organisms which significantly alters their genetic makeup.

Biopatents are the exclusive rights granted to the inventor or their assignee for the modification or usage of living organisms, their products and technologies, that make use of the genetic material, for public services.
The violation of the exclusive rights of concerned countries or people by exploitation of their bioresources, without their permission or compensatory remuneration is known as biopiracy. It is absolutely unethical and many developing countries have now developed laws to prevent such cases.
