State whether the following statements are true or false. If false, correct them.​

(a) Silk is a plant fibre.​
(b) Jute is obtained from the leaves of a plant.

Plants fibres are the ones obtained from plants. Silk is obtained from the cocoons of a silkworm. Therefore, it is not a plant fibre. It is an animal fibre. ​

Jute is a plant fibre. It is obtained from the stem of its plant.
Hence, the given statement is false. It can be corrected as,

Jute is obtained from the stem of a plant.

Therefore, the given statement is true.
