Statement I is false: Cheese is a fermented milk product. During the process of cheese making, the milk is curdled, after which it is allowed to ripen using various microbes to generate unique flavour, texture and taste. For example, Swiss cheese is ripened by the action of a bacteria named Propionibacterium sharmanii, Roquefort cheese is ripened by the action of Penicillium roqueforti.

Statement II is false: Bread is made from a dough which has flour, water and yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) as the basic ingredients. Yeast ferments the sugars in the dough in the absence of oxygen to form ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide. Lactic acid is not formed during the fermentation of bread dough.

Statement III is false: Toddy is an alcoholic beverage formed due to the fermentation of the sap from palm trees by the action of yeast. It is a famous traditional drink in many parts of South India.
